Since this was announced I had high hopes and I'm certainly not disappointed.Although strictly speaking a HOG, this is one of the most innovative titles of Artifex Mundi. Complete interactive screens with a story that is told through visuals with as little text as possible. The drawings are beautiful and with really nice music. Aimed at both children an adults the hint system is simple, but effective. The puzzles makes sense in the world of Brother Rabbit, but don't be fooled by it's cute exterior as trying to solve one puzzle requires more thinking than one would expect.Solid recommendation.. A journey where you must save and PROTECC a delicate flower.. This is a wonderfully heartrending game. The story pulls you right in. You want to help the boy “save” his sister right from the start. I loved the graphics. I’m very familiar with Artifex Mundi games, so it only took me a short while to figure out the game mechanics. I would highly recommend this game to those who enjoy hidden item puzzle games. The one drawback is the price. I took my time and completed this game, in a few hours, in one sitting. I find it hard to reconcile the cost of fifteen dollars for a few hours of gameplay. I recently completed another hidden item puzzle game (with 17+ hour average game time), which is being sold for ten dollars. In my opinion, this game is over-priced for the playable hours. I have noticed that this unfortunately seems to be a trend with the newer Artifex Mundi games: short play time with a high price. The overall cost, though, is my only complaint, as the rest of the game is awesome and enjoyable.. Wow, this was completely unexpected to be honest. Artifex Mundi is a name I associate with highly polished if somewhat formulaic HOG games with suitably dodgy voice acting, but with My Brother Rabbit they have finally stepped outside of the box they built for themselves. The result is by far the best game they've ever produced. Disregard everything you think you know about HOG games, because this is a beautiful evolution of the genre which at its core is about finding things hidden in a scene. What makes My Brother Rabbit different is the approach; there is no dialog, so no scope for utterly dire voice acting, the artwork is a mixture of coloured sketching that tells the story between chapters, and an exaggerated, whimsical cartoon style where the main game takes place. Each scene is packed full of details and humour, clicking on various things produces irreverent animations and sound effects. It reminds me of something that Amanita Design might make, with a touch of Monty Python's mad contraptions. Each chapter involves finding a succession of objects of a specific type to solve a particular puzzle, taking place over a handful of screens that slowly open up as you solve more puzzles. It neatly avoids the tiresome HOG convention of constantly having your progress barred by yet another half-broken object to fix by using a neat mechanic which indicates which scenes have a piece that you're looking for (either in plain view, or hidden behind another puzzle). It helps that it doesn't take itself remotely seriously. I mean it's not really a HOG game at all, but you can see its ancestry. The story is a simple one, but the music, animation and overall style sells it with just the right tone. The ending is perhaps a little brief, and I was sad when the journey was over, but that's perhaps the best compliment. There are also a few bonus achievements for playing along with the world.. Very fun puzzle game, not very challenging but still kept me entertained. Was I surprized to find this game and it has become one of my all time favorites. Wonderful artwork, such imaginative scenes and things to accomplish and the music was just the thing to set it off. Such a relaxing adventure in beautiful settings....the game is not easy but not too hard, it is everything I look for in a game and then some. Wow, I am so glad I found this game and I hope there are more like it.. My Brother Rabbit is a really lovely point and click adventure puzzle. It deals with the difficult subject by entering this animated world where you are doing all you can to help your friend flower get better. The setting and the music in the game were beautiful, and it felt quite relaxing to play. Took a few hours from start to finish. Our daughter (aged 10) also played it when I was done and really enjoyed it.. This is such a fun, satisfying, and emotionally poignant game! If you've played other HO games from Artifex Mundi and been disappointed by the stilted voice acting, animation style, repetitive elevator music, or silly storylines, I urge you to actually give this one a chance. They're moving in a new and wonderful direction that does better justice to this genre. The puzzles are so much more creative and whimsical, while still being only casual and moderately difficult (some of us actually prefer that, so thank you!). The game also uses creative metaphors for the sister's illness and makes you truly care about the characters in this story. The music is also much more complex than their usual games, to the point where it creates a soothing mood and makes you look forward to listening to it. Definitely give this one a try!
